  1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING – 13TH MARCH 2019

Minutes from the above meeting are attached for approval by Members (A)

 

  1. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE LAST MEETING 
  1. BUDGET PROFILE 2018/19

Members will recall that the Council took the decision to allocate £25,000 to the ‘Grants to Organisations’ budget for 2018/19.

In addition, the following sums were also allocated:

Play Leadership                                           £4,000

Junior Youth Worker, New Images             £5,000

As of 31st March 2019, the amount available from the original budget is £4,734.96.

The other grants listed above have now been spent.

  1. ‘RING-FENCED’ EVENTS 2019/20

Members will be aware that the Council in previous years has awarded grants to a number of annual ‘ring-fenced’ Winsford events. In 2018/19, these events were (with grant figures included):

  • Wellbeing Winsford (£1,000)
  • ‘D’ Fest (£1,000)
  • Salt Fair (£1,000)
  • Christmas Street Festival (£1,000)

 RECOMMENDED:

(a). Members are asked to which of these annual ‘ring-fenced’ events they wish to fund for 2018/19 and, if Members do wish to fund these events

(b). Members are asked to confirm what information, if any, they wish to receive from each of the event organisers before any grant is confirmed

 

  1. YOUTH WORKER/PLAY SCHEME

The Council has received two applications from the Winsford Youth Forum regarding the above areas of work.

  • Youth Worker

This application seeks to access a grant of £5,500 to cover the cost of work at the junior club based in the New Images building in Winsford

  • Play Scheme

This application is to access a grant of £4,400 which will be used to fund a play scheme in Winsford based at four venues

 Members should note that – as part of the 2019/20 budget – the above sums have been allocated under separate headings aside from the main grants budget for the Council.

RECOMMENDED:

Members are asked to approve or otherwise the applications made by the Winsford Youth Forum to access the funding allocated under these two headings by the Council.

10. GRANT APPLICATIONS

10(i) Delamere Street Festival

This application seeks a grant of £1,000 to cover the cost of the 2019 ‘D’ Fest (ring-fenced grant)

This application seeks a grant of £338 to support two coaches to disabled football standard.

10(iii) Winsford United F.C.

This application seeks a grant of £4,000 to replace the boiler and heating system.

10(iv) GIFT (Getting Involved, Finding Talent) – Retain Wellbeing CIC

This application seeks a grant of £2,000 to seek to connect adults who are feeling lonely and isolated in Winsford and help them to meet new people and try out new opportunities.

10(v) Winsford, Middlewich and Northwich Sea Cadets

This application seeks a grant of £1,000 to provide equipment and resources for the Cadets’ Duke of Edinburgh Award training and qualification activities.

This application seeks a grant of £350 to reward volunteers.
