Tenders are invited from dairies for the provision of milk in 189ml cartons, complete with straws, to each of the Winsford schools referred to in the accompanying tender document, for the two year period commencing with the start of the academic year on Monday 16 April 2018 until 31 March 2020.
The milk will be supplied to the schools on each day that the pupils attend and must be delivered before 9.30 am.
It will be a requirement of the contract that 189ml semi-skimmed fluoridated cartons are supplied on request.
The tender will be awarded in its entirety and will not be split between different suppliers. The tender price must be per litre.
It will be necessary for a detailed invoice to be submitted at the end of each month showing the amount of milk delivered to each school, and this will be compared with a return provided by the individual schools.
The invoice must be submitted within 21 days of the last day of the month to which the supply relates to enable payment to be made as soon as possible. This timetable must be strictly observed, as any delay could result in loss of the EU subsidy to the Council.
If the successful tenderer contracts any of the deliveries out to another supplier it will be the responsibility of the successful tenderer to submit the invoice within the above timescale. No invoices will be paid to sub-contractors or to dairies other than the one contracted to supply the milk.
Tenderers must be prepared to make a written statement that the milk supplied has a fat content of not more than 1.8% (other than nursery units within primary schools) and to supply copies of the analytical documents confirming this with the monthly invoices. Spot checks may also be carried out from time to time to confirm the analysis figures supplied.
Tenders must be submitted on the enclosed form before 12 noon on Friday 23rd February 2018 in a sealed envelope addressed to the undernamed at Wyvern House, The Drumber, Winsford, Cheshire CW7 1AH and marked ‘SCHOOL MILK TENDER’.
