Arriva operates a regular daytime bus service between Northwich Winsford and Crewe. An hourly service serves Winsford, Middlewich, Sandbach, and Crewe, calling at Crewe railway station.

There are frequent services within Winsford which serve Glebe Green, Over Estate, Greenfield Park, Grange Estate, Town Centre, Dene Estate, Greville, Railway station, and Wharton.

Leighton Hospital is reached using buses to Crewe. A bus leaves the Hospital at 8.10 PM after evening visits. No direct bus service on Sunday.

Off peak services are provided by ; a subsidised service run with support from Cheshire County Council.

Winsford station is to the east of the town on the A54 Station Road. It is on the West Coast Main Line and is served by Central trains operating between Crewe and Liverpool.
The station has level access to the Liverpool trains and a ramp or footbridge to Birmingham trains. The car park is level and visible from the station, which is manned from first to last train each day.
