Work is continuing on the Town Park in Winsford, with the play area starting to take shape (see pictures below). The wood being used is called robinia which is a very hard wood, very durable and difficult to burn or vandalise.
In addition to work on the play equipment, the art work which is being placed in the Park is also being developed.
To allow residents to take a look at this art work and make comments or offer ideas, a number of workshops have been held with the artist (Liam Hopkins from Lazarian – see website www.lazerian.com). These workshops have been held in the Dingle Centre (Monday 20th November 2017 – am) and the Cross Hatch Gallery (Tuesday 21st November – am). There is also going to be forum with local schools, held on Thursday 23rd November 2017 – pm.
The artwork is to be called the Seven Sisters, named after the chimneys that stood at the side of the river at the saltworks in Winsford (see picture and designs below).
