Healthy Winsford exists to enable Winsford people, in partnership with the wider community, to improve their quality of life through the facilities and resources of a local living centre.

Healthy Winsford Alliance is a group of people representing the health needs and aspirations of the community. It has been meeting regularly since 1996 and was formed to pursue a National lottery Bid for a healthy living centre. The Alliance has a membership drawn from statutory and voluntary organisations and any organisation, which represents the well being of the community, is welcome to attend our meetings.

Healthy Winsford Alliance Activities

1.Research Worker appointed and study completed

2.Research and consultation in teenage conceptions in partnership with Health Promotion Service

3.Secured SRB funding for Youth Information Shop

4.National Lottery Bid for Healthy Living centre

5.Increased co-operation and information sharing between agencies and community

The Sure Start initiative from central government aims to set up a network of family support centres to ensure all families get help and advice.

NEW HEALTH CENTRE FOR WINSFORD

Health services provided at Weaver Vale, Swanlow Lane and High Street practices have now moved into a new purpose built health centre on Dene Drive.

The new facility provides a greatly expanded range of services to the local community.
