Allotments
Keen gardeners will be pleased to know we have allotments at Moss Bank, founded in 1924. This is a four acre site with over 50 plots available for rent. There are no vacancies at present but you can put your name on the waiting list, (see below).The Over allotments Association now has its own website http://www.overallotments.co.uk

The Council also maintains play areas at Station Road, Meadow Bank, Leaf Lane and Stanthorne, King George VI and areas of open space, including the Rilshaw Meadows local beauty spot.
Concessionary Travel
Winsford residents who are aged 60 or over can apply to Cheshire West and Chester Council for a Senior Railcard. These railcards are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and entitles the holder to 1/3 off most rail fares throughout Great Britain. They cost £18 as opposed to £26 if purchased direct from National Rail. Applications can be made in person to Wyvern House or by post. For more information, call 0300 123 7025.
Disabled persons railcards are also available at a cost of £11.
Winsford Town Council is offering card holders who are Winsford residents, an additional £2.50 discount. The discount can be claimed on various dates throughout the year. See the Council’s website or the Town centre noticeboard for the next discount issue dates.
Souvenirs
A range of mugs,plates, plaques, and post cards are available from the Town Council Office
School Milk
Winsford has provided school milk for infants since 1985. The Town Council has a budget of £30k towards this with an EU grant of £15k. further details from the Town Clerk or from the School Milk Web site.
Milk with added flouride is available at parents request.
Christmas Lights
Winsford Town Council provides the Christmas lights along the entire length of the High Street from the Over roundabout to the river. Recently many of the traditional fittings have been replaced with energy saving led bulbs.
Well worth a visit.
Grants
The Council supports the town with grants to local organisations who provide sport, leisure, churches, and community services to their members. Applications can be made at any time. Your request should be made to the Town Clerk who will advise you of any additional information needed to support your application.
