The Town Council has fifteen elected members made up of seven Labour, two conservatives and six Liberal Democrats. Elections are held every four years, the next being in 2011.
Winsford is also divided into six wards for Vale Royal and Town Council elections.

Winsford is in Eddisbury Parliamentary constituency and the North West European constituency of ten MEPs .

Winsford is divided into two electoral divisions for County elections i.e. Winsford North and East and Winsford South and West,Elections are held every four years. Next election is on the first Thursday in May 2009
